The Premium model runs on\u2002a rear-wheel-drive platform with a single electric motor which produces <\/span>313 PS and 380 Nm<\/b> of torque. That equals\u20020-62 mph (100 km\/h) from a standstill in 6.7 seconds and a claimed range of up to 567 km on one charge \u2013 ideal for <\/span>long commutes<\/b> without endless charging concerns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Performance model, however, is\u2002significantly more powerful with two motors and all-wheel drive. It packs <\/span>530 PS<\/b> of power and <\/span>690 Nm<\/b> of torque, and does the 0-100 km\/h run in 4.5 seconds. The sacrifice? 542 km of range is just a little less \u2013 but really for most <\/span>city-based driving<\/b> that\u2019s more than sufficient.\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n Both models come with a common power source in the <\/span>82.56 kWh Blade Battery<\/b> which BYD uses as its own patented lithium iron\u2002phosphate (LFP) technology. This battery allows for ultra-fast <\/span>DC charging at a rate of 230 kW<\/b>, leading to a\u2002charge from 10 to 80 percent in 32 minutes. Just think about it \u2014 squeezing in enough charge for the rest of your day in\u2002the time it takes to get a coffee!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Inside<\/b>, it is the BYD Sealion 7 that sits at the top to show BYD\u2019s technology\u2002prowess. The 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen is undoubtedly the\u2002main attraction \u2014 yes, it really rotates and a <\/span>10.25-inch digital instrument cluster<\/b> acts as the cocoon. This rotating display is a great conversation piece and adds to turning the\u2002menus into genuinely fun rather than frustrating.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Outside <\/b>the screen, you get premium touches like a panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system, head-up display and wireless phone charging. Front\u2002seats are <\/span>heated <\/b>and <\/span>ventilated<\/b> to offer a degree of comfort in boiling summers and freezing winters. There’s\u2002even a 500-litre boot that grows to <\/span>1,789 litres<\/b> with the rear seats down \u2014 ideal for weekend breaks or moving house calamities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BYD is not stingy when it comes to safety features. The Sealion 7 is equipped with <\/span>11 airbags<\/b> as standard along with a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control and a full <\/span>Level 2 ADAS<\/b> package\u2002that also integrates lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot detection. It\u2002also earned a <\/span>5-star Euro NCAP<\/b> rating, which says a lot about its crash test results.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Sealion 7 was out on\u2002the date of 17 February 2025 and the first 70 units began deliveries on 7 March 2025.
