The car started that test showing 684 km on the cluster at 100% charge — already short of Mercedes’ claimed figure before a single kilometre was driven, which tells you how much WLTP numbers inflate expectations even before real-world driving comes into play.

Edmunds’ US test, run on the American-spec CLA 250+ using a strict 60% city / 40% highway cycle, recorded 434 miles (about 698 km) against an EPA estimate of 374 miles, meaning the car beat its own official number by 16%, which is the opposite of what usually happens with EVs.

A European test by electrive.com told a different story in cold weather: after 210 km of mostly motorway driving in Eco mode at 120 kmph with winter tyres fitted, the battery dropped from 91% to 44% working out to roughly 485 km of range on a full charge, and closer to 340 km if you’re only using the practical 10-80% charging window.

Overall, CLA 250+ can give you 500 — 690 km of range in real-world Indian driving conditions.
