Maruti Suzuki Discount Feb 2026: Swift, Fronx & Brezza Offers Explained

Maruti Suzuki Discount

Maruti Suzuki Discount, India’s largest carmaker, has planned its product strategy around this transition very carefully and has a vehicle for every niche segment of the market. The three protagonists —the 4th Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Maruti Suzuki Discount Fronx and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, form the crux of this strategy. Each caters to a particular customer requirement: hyper-efficiency, aspirational styling and utilitarian ruggedness, respectively.

The February 2026 Opportunity Window

By February 2026, the manufacturers are offering heavy discounts to clear stocks before the end of the financial year and to accommodate new models, such as the much-awaited Brezza facelift. Let’s get more details about these cars and their prices.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx The Push for Turbo

The cumulative benefits on the Fronx Turbo variants go up to up to ₹30,000 which includes cash discount, exchange bonus, and corporate offer. In contrast, the hot selling 1.2L NA variants have no cash discount, and only exchange offers are used to lure buyers. This gap indicates that 1.2L Fronx is selling organically on the basis of perceived reliability and cheaper maintenance, but Turbo need financial nudge to move away from showroom floors.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Defending the Realm

Even though the Swift is a new generation model, the discounts are hefty of up to ₹48,000. This aggressive positioning is in response to the onslaught of “Micro-SUVs” from the likes of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Maruti wants to keep the first-time buyer, who can be tempted by the charm of an SUV body style, by providing a strong financial value proposition on the Swift.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza The Facelift Paradox

The Brezza is a strange beast. With a full model change coming in mid March 2026, some hefty clearance discounts ($1,000 or more) would not be unexpected. However, the benefits are limited to a paltry ₹30,000.

Which means two things: The current Brezza still sells in good numbers due to its tried and tested 1.5L engine; and Maruti is confident of a seamless transition to the facelift without having to slash the current model’s brand equity.

On-Road Price of the Market

Model & Variant Ex-Showroom RTO & Taxes Insurance Other Charges On-Road Price
Swift LXi (Base) ₹5.79 Lakh ₹46,312 ~₹33,463 ~₹23k ₹6.82 Lakh
Swift ZXi+ AMT (Top) ₹8.80 Lakh ~₹70k ~₹44k ~₹30k ₹10.25 Lakh
Fronx Sigma (Base) ₹6.85 Lakh ~₹55k ~₹37k ~₹38k ₹8.15 Lakh
Fronx Alpha Turbo AT ₹11.98 Lakh ~₹1.20L ~₹50k ~₹50k ₹13.79 Lakh
Brezza LXi (Base) ₹8.26 Lakh ~₹66k ~₹42k ~₹31k ₹9.66 Lakh
Brezza ZXi+ AT (Top) ₹13.01 Lakh ~₹1.30L ~₹59k ~₹58k ₹15.48 Lakh

Design, Comfort, and Practicality Comparison

Exterior Dimensions Comparison and Road Presence

Dimension Swift Fronx Brezza
Length (mm) 3860 3995 3995
Width (mm) 1735 1765 1790
Height (mm) 1520 1550 1685
Ground Clearance 163 mm 190 mm 198 mm
Boot Space 265 L 308 L 328 L

The roads in India, especially in the budding suburbs or incessant monsoon waterlogging, need clearance. The Brezza (198mm) and Fronx (190mm) offer some peace of mind the Swift (163mm) can’t provide.

Interior Ergonomics and Space

Maruti Brezza

  • The tall ceiling and large glass windows make the cabin feel spacious.
  • The seating is upright (Command Position), allowing for clear and wide visibility over the bonnet edges, which is very useful in traffic.

Maruti Brezza

  • The back seat is wide, and the stiff H-point (hip point) means senior citizens can slide off rather than squat down, for this reason it’s the most “Senior Citizen Friendly” car of the three.

Maruti Fronx

  • The interior styling is neuter, yet trendy, using the layered dashboard design adopted from the Baleno laden with rich textures. But the “Coupe” roofline is its achilles heel.
  • Rear headroom is very limited and passengers who are taller than 6ft will literally be having their heads rubbed by the headliner.

Maruti Fronx

  • The rising window line, which becomes sharply upward slanting in the rear, is a bit claustrophobic in the back seat compared to the Brezza.

Maruti Swift

  • The cabin sports a black theme all around.
  • The driver’s seat is low-slung and provides a «go-kart» driving experience that automotive enthusiasts love. But the back seat is only really usable for two adults and a kid.

Maruti Swift

  • The narrow rear windows and dark color scheme can make the back seat seem tighter than it really is.

Boot Utility

  • Brezza: 328 Liters. The shape is square and practical, accommodating two large suitcases along with two duffle bags. The lip of the loading is flat.
  • Fronx: 308 Liters. “This is unlike most boots which are difficult to load due to a high loading lip you have to lift heavy bags a long way up to put them inside.”
  • Swift: 265 Liters. Good just for weekend bags or a week’s worth of groceries. A lengthy airport run will mean folding down the back seats.

Technology and Features

All three vehicles feature a sleek 9-inch HD touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, making day-to-day connectivity effortless.

  • HUD (Fronx & Brezza): This feature is especially useful to stay focused when driving at high speeds, for a safer and more convenient experience.
  • The 360° camera in the Fronx and Brezza, however, makes maneuvering in cramped parking spaces a breeze.
  • Sunroof (Brezza only): A big emotional win for families – and a genuine purchase trigger in India.

Brezza and Fronx seem much more premium with the Arkamys “Surround Sense” quiet number, clear vocals, better balance, and deeper richness of audio output. Swift does deliver plenty of bang for the buck, but its sound is drier and less enveloping.

Safety Suite

Standard Safety: To its credit, Maruti Suzuki Discount has made 6 Airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Hill Hold Assist a standard fitment in all variants of the 3 cars for 2026. This broadening of safety has made even the lowest-spec Swift LXi a lot safer than the previous model.

Platform Safety: The Brezza is based on the Global C platform, which has previously achieved 4stars in crash tests. The Swift and Fronx are manufactured on the Heartect platform which is designed for light-weighting (for better mileage) but is known to perform poorly in crash ratings (usually 1-2 stars in the earlier tests, with updated 2026 scores).

Future Sensors (ADAS): The imminent Brezza Facelift (March 2026) is speculated to bring Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Autonomous Emergency Braking. At present, none of the three models is equipped with ADAS.

Fuel Efficiency

The Maruti Suzuki Discount is the obvious winner when it comes to fuel efficiency — this is the car for people who drive a lot, day in, day out. For those with high usage such as sales professionals, office commuters, and daily highway travellers, the savings in fuel costs alone on a monthly basis make it the wisest financial choice.

The Fronx is just right — not too heavy, not too efficient. It’s for people who want SUV styling, good space and mileage, but who think most other options are just too unbalanced. A genuine “best of both worlds” solution.

The Brezza is for comfort-first shoppers. It eats up fuel, yes, but space, stability, features, and family comfort are what you get in return. It’s not about saving money here — it’s about living better inside the car.”

Ride and Handling

Suspension Tuning

  • Fronx: Brightened up slightly on the stiff side in order to back its ‘sporty’ stance. It corners well with little body roll but in some situations could feel jittery, such as when driving over sharp potholes or expansion joints.
  • Brezza: Tuned with comfort in mind. It soaks up bad roads beautifully and shields occupants from every bump. But in high speed tight corners, entire body rolls because of its height. It’s not a car to be hustled around corners.
  • Swift: Suspension is soft, great for city speeds. However, at very high speeds on highway (100+ kmph) it has a “floaty” feeling and is not as planted as Brezza or Fronx.

Conclusion:- Maruti Suzuki Discount

The Maruti Suzuki Discount is your best buddy if you are a victim of the busy road on your daily commute. If you are a socialite and want to make an entry, the Fronx makes your look impressive! But for the weekend jaunts with the entire family, the Brezza is the only car that can cut the mustard.

As of February 2026, the Brezza VXi is the best overall value as it delivers SUV qualities at a price, which cuts into the market of smaller premium hatchbacks.

Erica Kirk Luxury Car Collection Featuring Rare Supercars and Premium Models

Published Dec 13, 2025, 7:43 AM
Last Updated Apr 7, 2026, 5:31 AM

Erica Kirk Luxury Car Collection

The subject of Erica Kirk Luxury Car Collection rarely strays from the garages of Hollywood A-listers or tech moguls in the automotive world, but once in a while a political or business figure makes for a collection that is surprising and worth a second look. Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of founder Charlie Kirk, has fashioned a life that is equal parts high-stakes leadership and undeniable luxury.

After the well-publicized and tragic death of her husband in 2025, Erika not only gained control of a media empire but also a carefully selected fleet of vehicles that is an eclectic array of American muscle, sophisticated luxury, and rugged utilitarianism.

Gear-heads and lifestyle watchers can learn a lot by studying Erika Kirk’s garage, which is essentially a collection of two: track-focused engineering with blistering speed, cradled by quiet opulence and family-hauling fortresses. So, let’s take a closer look at the cars that make up her collection, and see what exotic and rare supercars are available for this power player.

2025 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

If there’s one car that sums up the “SUPERCAR” status of this group, it’s the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Some collectors chase Italian badges for the prestige, but the Kirks’ choice of the Z06 indicates a taste for world-beating performance with an American passport.

2025 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The Z06 isn’t just a “fast car”, it’s a naturally aspirated marvel. At its core lies the LT6 5.5-liter V8 engine, a flat-plane crank wonder that revs to an 8,600 RPM redline. This isn’t the lazy rumbling like a traditional muscle car: it’s a high pitched race-bred shriek that can go head-to-head with a Ferrari 458.

For Erika, a person who is frequently in front of the camera, the Z06 has a bold presence. The wide-body stance, aggressive aero kit, and massive carbon ceramic brakes, let me tell you this car is made for some serious getting around. It is said to be one of the “flagship” cars in the estate and is thought to be worth between £110k and £150k, depending on which trim and carbon fibre options you go for. It does 0-60 mph in a blistering 2.6 seconds, making it quicker than a bunch of European exotics that cost three times as much.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve

When the cameras are off and the school run begins, the Corvette stays home. Out goes the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus, and in comes the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve. That choice underscores a move toward “Quiet Flight” – Lincoln’s design ethos that places sanctuary over sportiness.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve

For a mother of two who is also the CEO of a national organization, the Nautilus is a mobile command post. The Six is especially known for its 48-inch panoramic display that stretches across the whole dashboard, creating a futuristic yet calm digital experience. It is powered by either a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine or a hybrid powertrain option, focusing more on smooth power delivery than outright power.

The cabin is draped in high-quality leather, and its 24-way Perfect Position seats include a massage function – necessary for high-pressure days. It’s a more understated flex: a car that doesn’t scream “look at me,” but rather whispers “I’m here.”

Range Rover Autobiography

No high-end automobile collection would be complete without the lord of the SUVs. Reports and videos from the Kirk compound occasionally show sleek, blacked-out SUVs, presumed to be zRange Rovers. Among the elite political class, business magnates, the Range Rover is the dress code.

Range Rover Autobiography

Range Rover Autobiography or a high-spec SE, this car takes the best bits of the off-road accessible Range Rover and the limousine-like comfort of the standard model. Based on the BMW 7 Series, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 powertrain (manufactured by BMW) produces about 523 horsepower.

Why This Essential For Erika Kirk, The one thing Erika always points out is the command driving position and how secure she feels in the car. With hot-stone massage seats, a meridian sound system and an intimidating road stature, it feels more like a bunker on wheels. It’s the car to arrive at galas, board meetings or private airports.

The Rugged Outlier — 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK

A perfect vehicle for the Kirk, which became the compatible partner in the Arizona desert is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK.

In that way, the addition lends a touch of realism to the line up. It’s as if through all those private jets and Manhattan apartments, you can still get outside and go on an adventure. The Wrangler JK is renowned for its off-road capabilities, with solid axles and a removable top. It‘s not about luxury, it’s about freedom. It’s the car you bring when you want to get lost in the canyons, hide away from politics and media.

Jeep Wrangler JK

It’s the complete opposite of the digital shine on the Lincoln and the precision of the Corvette: a physical representative for a more grounded, “tomboy” aspect of Erika’s style that she’s talked about in interviews before.

The Power Within the Garage

In order to get a real sense of the range within this set, we need only examine the figures. Here is a specification sheet comparison for the best models of Erica Kirk Luxury Car Collection.

Spec / Feature 2025 Chevy Corvette Z06 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Range Rover (Est. V8)
Engine 5.5L LT6 V8 (Flat-Plane) 2.0L Turbo I-4 / Hybrid 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8
Horsepower 670 hp @ 8,400 rpm ~250 – 310 hp 523 hp
0-60 MPH 2.6 seconds ~7.0 seconds 4.4 seconds
Drivetrain RWD (Mid-Engine) AWD AWD
Primary Use High-Performance Driving Daily Luxury / Family Executive Transport
Est. Price $115,000+ $55,000 – $75,000 $160,000+
Vibe American Supercar Digital Sanctuary British Opulence

Conclusion

For Erica Kirk Luxury Car Collection is not just assets, it is a story of the chapter of her life that she is currently living. The Corvette is the embodiment of brazen, unapologetic American daring — and her late husband shared that trait. The Range Rover and Lincoln represent the maternal, executive and protective roles she inhabits today, roles that require safe, cutting-edge and status-driven wheels. Yet the Jeep remains a link to the Arizona beginnings and her exhilaration at finding a dusty trail.

In an era of influencers just leasing the latest Lamborghini for the ’Gram, this collection feels curated and intentional. It straddles the “Rare Supercar” jolt of the Z06 with the “Premium Model” practicality you need to run an empire. For Erika Kirk, these aren’t just cars to look at — they are instruments of a business where you need power, on every level.

What Salary Do You Need to Buy a Maruti Suzuki Swift in India?

Published Oct 26, 2026, 1:00 PM
Last Updated Oct 27, 2026, 11:31 AM

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Employees often get confused about what salary they need to buy a Maruti Suzuki Swift. Its on-road price provided by the dealer will be more than a sticker price, depending on the city charges and insurance. To buy it, take-home is ₹50,000 when an EMI of ₹11,200 is set to your account. That EMI already eats about 22% of your salary before fuel, insurance renewals or a single service bill.

So plan your swift according to your salary, understand how you can take up a loan that won’t squeeze your account.

What Salary Do You Need to Buy a Maruti Suzuki Swift

If your salary is around ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 a month excluding EPF and you make a reasonable down payment then you can easily purchase a Swift. If you have any major EMI to pay along with your car EMI, it could go rough on your daily expenses. If your salary is roughly ₹40,000 a month then it’s possible to buy a Maruti Suzuki Swift but you’ll need a bigger down payment and tight budget for the first couple of years.

Lenders are more generous than that. Many will approve a car loan of roughly three to four times your annual income, which means someone earning about ₹2.89 lakh a year could theoretically qualify for a Swift loan. Approval tells you what the bank will risk. It says nothing about what your month looks like after the EMI leaves your account.

Maruti Suzuki Swift On-Road Price

The ex-showroom price range of Swift is ₹5.79 lakh to ₹8.69 lakh for the top variant. There are a total 12 variants which also come in this price range. A 1.2 Petrol LXI is the base variant which can be easily bought. Check the price because it updates with time and ask your dealer the cost of a car because each city applies different charges.

Maruti Suzuki Swift On-Road Price

The base LXI is nearly cost around ₹6.69 to ₹10.04 lakh in Mumbai and ₹6.44 lakh in Delhi. For the math below I’ve used ₹6.7 lakh, the figure for an entry-level Swift in a metro. The CNG version price starts at ₹7.45 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi and the automatic variant costs around ₹7.04 lakh.

What EMI Is Comfortably Fit With Your Salary

Assuming a five-year loan with a 9.5% interest which works out to roughly ₹2,100 of EMI for every ₹1 lakh borrowed. The loan interest and tenure depends on your credit score and lender.

Monthly take-home Down payment Loan amount EMI EMI as share of salary Verdict
₹40,000 ₹2.0–2.5 lakh ₹4.2–4.7 lakh ₹8,800–9,800 22–24% Possible, but tight
₹50,000 ₹1.35 lakh ₹5.35 lakh ₹11,200 22% Manageable with few other expenses
₹60,000 ₹1.5–2.0 lakh ₹4.7–5.2 lakh ₹9,800–10,900 16–18% Comfortable
₹70,000+ ₹1.5–2.0 lakh ₹4.7–5.2 lakh ₹9,800–10,900 14–16% Comfortable, with room for running costs

The usual rule is to keep a car EMI within 15 to 20% of take-home pay, and closer to ₹8,000–₹10,000 if you pay rent or carry other loans. By that rule, the ₹50,000 row only works if you change the down payment. To bring the EMI under ₹10,000 on a ₹6.7 lakh on-road price, you’d borrow about ₹4.75 lakh, which means putting down nearly ₹1.95 lakh instead of ₹1.35 lakh. A larger down payment is the cheapest way to make the Swift fit a smaller salary.

The on-road price should sit within one year’s take-home income. At ₹6.7 lakh, that points to ₹56,000 a month, which agrees with the ₹50,000–₹60,000 range above.

The Running Cost of Swift That Skips From EMI Calculator

Say you drive about 1,000 km a month. At roughly 18 to 20 km per litre in real city conditions and petrol near ₹100 a litre, that’s around ₹5,000 for fuel. These are my estimates, not tested figures, and both the mileage and the petrol price vary by city and driving style. Add a monthly reserve for servicing and insurance renewal, perhaps ₹1,500–₹2,000, and you’re near ₹7,000 a month on top of the EMI.

Running Cost of Swift

If your salary is ₹50,000 a month and total car cost (running plus EMI) near ₹18,000 that leaves 36% of take-home. If you earn ₹60,000 and EMI is ₹10,000 then the total is about ₹17,000 that leaves 28% of take home. That gap is why the salary needed to buy a Swift comfortably sits closer to ₹60,000 than ₹50,000. Parking, tolls and tyre replacement are extra, and they matter a lot in India.

Maruti Swift Specs at a Glance

Spec Details
Engine (petrol) 1.2-litre Z-series, 3-cylinder, 82 hp, 112 Nm
Engine (CNG) Same 1.2-litre, 70 hp, 102 Nm
Gearbox Manual or AMT (CNG is manual only, going by the listed trims)
Claimed mileage 24.8 kmpl (manual) to 25.75 kmpl (AMT); CNG 32.85 km/kg
Safety Six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD (confirm variant-wise with the dealer)
Ex-showroom price ₹5.79–₹8.69 lakh

You have to pay ₹1.5 lakh extra to purchase a CNG but you can save on fuel if you drive more. So it will recover your purchase cost in a few years. If the CNG station is fewer in your region then you can face a difficulty. Its always depends on your driving pattern and area.

Swift vs Tata Tiago vs Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

The Swift’s two nearest rivals are the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Tiago. Both start cheaper, though listings disagree on by how much. Tiago ranges between ₹4.70 and ₹5.60 lakh ex-showroom and the Nios between ₹5.47 and ₹5.98 lakh, so check current dealer prices.

The Nios uses a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol with around 82–83 hp, almost identical to the Swift’s output. Hyundai’s cabin is a little more polished, but the Nios has only a 2-star Global NCAP rating under the older protocol. The Tiago’s 1.2-litre Revotron is the least efficient at about 19 kmpl, and its pitch is safety and value rather than fuel economy. The Swift’s claimed 24.8 kmpl beats both comfortably.

For a stretched budget, the arithmetic helps. Choosing a Tiago over a Swift cuts the loan by about ₹1 lakh or more, which saves roughly ₹2,100 a month in EMI. Over five years that is about ₹1.26 lakh. If your take-home sits near ₹45,000, that difference matters more than the Swift’s better mileage. If you’re at ₹60,000 and want the stronger resale value and mileage, the Swift is the easier choice.

What Are The Monthly Running And Fuel Costs

The fuel is about ₹4,000–₹7,000 in India and other charges like insurance, servicing, repair needed then the total amount to run for new petrol Maruti Suzuki Swift would be around ₹6,500–₹11,000. EMI is not included in this amount.

Maruti Swift

The current Swift petrol returns an ARAI mileage of about 25.35 kmpl (manual) to 26.25 kmpl (AMT). This is the claimed mileage of a car and the real-world city mileage is usually lower.

Conclusion

If you don’t have any other major EMI to pay on a ₹60,000 salary then purchasing a Swift is a great option. If you are below that salary then you have to be careful about your expenses and running cost of a Swift to make a purchase.

Before you sign, run one test. Multiply your take-home by 12 and compare it with the on-road price from your dealer. If the price is higher, raise the down payment until the EMI drops below 20% of your monthly salary. If you can’t get there without draining your savings, you’ve found your answer.

Volkswagen Confirms Plans to Launch New Sub-4-metre SUV by 2027

Volkswagen

Volkswagen confirms plans to launch a new sub-4-metre SUV for India in 2027 and it is the first b-segment SUV of the brand. It will be placed below the Taigun, beginning at approximately ₹12 lakh. This new model of VW is a direct competitor of Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, while avoiding a segment that ‘actually moves volume’. It will share most of its mechanical components with the Skoda Kyiaq, but Volkswagen might equip it with a different bodywork, interior and driving feel.

Scheduled to be launched in November 2024 and opened for bookings that December, Skoda’s Kyla crossed 10,000 bookings within its first ten days on sale. That figure is a strong response that changed Volkswagen Group India’s approach. After discontinuation of Polo and Ameo, VW retreated from the sub-4-metre segment.

This is what we currently know about the next compact VW SUV – powertrain, size, features and where it will fit within the VW lineup.

Why Volkswagen Is Finally Entering the Sub-4-Metre Race

The sub-4-metre SUV segment is where the volume is in India. The tax regime keeps these compact SUVs more affordable than their larger counterparts, and vehicles such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3O off these have been topping the monthly sales charts consistently.Volkswagen had this one idled for years, with the Taigun and Virtus serving as its points of entry instead and both clocking in way above what most first-time SUV buyers in India actually pay.

Volkswagen Is Finally

That strategy capped how many people could realistically consider a Volkswagen. The new SUV changes that by sitting below the Taigun, giving VW its first genuine mass-market play in the country since the Polo era. It also allows the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chakan to run at a higher capacity as the car will share tooling and components with the Kylacq and will not require a separate production line.

Volkswagen Expected Engine, Dimensions and Performance

Volkswagen has yet to announce a name, styling images or a final spec sheet, so consider some of this an educated guess as to what’s confirmed versus what’s probable.

The SUV is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, and will be produced in India. It targets its launch in 2027, with most reports indicating a mid-year launch rather than a January or Q1 date. It’s also confirmed to sit below the Taigun as VW’s new entry-level SUV in India.

Power will come from the familiar 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine, producing 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque — the same unit working in the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Taigun today. A 6-speed manual gearbox is the expected base option. Volkswagen may fit an 8-speed torque converter automatic rather than carrying over the Kylaq’s 6-speed unit, which would be a genuine point of differentiation.

Volkswagen Expected Engine

Dimensions should land close to the Kylaq’s 3,995mm length and 2,566mm wheelbase, since staying under 4 metres is the entire point of the tax bracket this car is built for. The design is rather than a straight Kylaq clone, Volkswagen is expected to give the car a distinct front and rear, inspired from the Volkswagen Tera, a related model already sold in Brazil.

Expect a new grille, revised bumpers, and a different lighting signature, following the same playbook VW used to differentiate the Taigun from the Kushaq.

Pricing is expected in the range between ₹9-16 lakh on-road Mumbai range, but that’s a media estimate, not a Volkswagen number, and on-road figures swing by state due to registration and road tax. Don’t plan a budget around it yet.

How It Stacks Up Against the Competition

Volkswagen SUV vs Skoda Kylaq

Since both share the MQB-A0-IN platform and, in all likelihood, the same 1.0-litre TSI engine, the Kylaq is your clearest preview of what VW’s new SUV will feel like to drive. The Kylaq measures 3,995 mm in length with a 2,566 mm wheelbase, and its adult occupant safety score of 30.88 out of 32 in Bharat NCAP testing gives an early indication of the safety baseline the VW version should meet or beat.

Where the two are expected to differ is transmission choice and cabin finish, with Volkswagen typically pitching its Group cars as the sportier-driving option compared to Skoda’s more feature-loaded value pitch.

Volkswagen SUV vs Tata Nexon

The Nexon continues to be the benchmark in the segment, based on Tata’s tried and tested X1 platform powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol producing 120 PS and a 1.5-litre diesel variant that VW’s petrol-only line-up won’t get. Tata is also selling an electric Nexon, which Volkswagen’s ICE-centric entry couldn’t compete with directly.

What VW brings instead is badge value and a European driving character that Nexon buyers moving up from a hatchback often say they want but can’t get at this price point today.

Conclusion

Volkswagen’s new sub-4-metre SUV might also enable the brand to tap into India’s largest SUV segment more effectively. With Kylaq already showcasing what the platform can offer, a Volkswagen variant with the familiar TSI engine, unique styling and competitive pricing could possibly pose a real threat to the Nexon, Brezza, Venue and Sonet.

Let’s wait and see how aggressively will VW price and position it when the SUV hits the market in 2027.
